End-to-End Coconut Export Architecture
From Pollachi and Saurashtra coconut groves to international ocean container discharge: how Pingax InMotion LLP ensures biological freshness, weight integrity, and statutory export compliance.
Selective Origin Harvesting & Mandi Procurement
Black Loam & Coastal Sourcing from Pollachi & Mahuva
Coconuts are hand-harvested from mature 12-month old tall palms in Pollachi (Tamil Nadu) and coastal Mahuva (Saurashtra, Gujarat). We select high-density nuts with maximum meat thickness and naturally high water retention.
Quality Checklist & Controls:
- Direct procurement via APMC certified grower networks
- Strict rejection of immature (<11 month) or split nuts
- Immediate transit to regional grading sheds within 24 hours of harvest
Precision De-Husking & Crown Preservation
Fiber Crown Seal Over Germination Eye Pores
Semi-husking is performed manually by trained agro-artisans. An intact tuft of natural fibrous coir crown is deliberately retained over the three germination eyes. This acts as a living botanical seal, preventing transpiration and microbial ingress during extended ocean transit.
Quality Checklist & Controls:
- Natural fibrous eye crown preserved at 2-3 cm height
- Clean outer shell polishing with zero chemical bleach or dips
- Retention of sweet natural electrolyte water and kernel oil content
Electronic Weight Grading & Size Calibration
Precision Brackets: Grade A Jumbo (550g - 650g+)
Every single nut passes through calibrated digital check-weighers. Nuts are segregated into precise weight bands to ensure complete uniformity within export bags and container payloads.
Quality Checklist & Controls:
- Grade A Jumbo: 550g – 650g+ (Average 600g net per nut)
- Calibrated circumference: 12.5 to 14.5 inches
- Zero tolerance for micro-fissures or hairline shell fractures
Breathable Export Packaging & Dunnage
High-Tensile PP Mesh Bags with Ventilation Weave
Nuts are packaged in heavy-duty virgin polypropylene (PP) mesh bags with specialized open-mesh ventilation. This allows continuous airflow throughout container stowage, preventing fungal condensation.
Quality Checklist & Controls:
- Standard 50-nut red/yellow export mesh bags (approx. 28-30 kg gross)
- Optional 25-nut consumer display bags (approx. 14-15 kg gross)
- Palletized wooden dunnage with fumigated ISPM-15 compliant pallets on request
Statutory Plant Quarantine & Inspection
Govt NPPO Phytosanitary Certification
Prior to port dispatch, qualified quarantine officers from the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (Govt of India NPPO) inspect the consignment. Samples are examined for phytosanitary clearance.
Quality Checklist & Controls:
- Official Phytosanitary Certificate issued prior to port departure
- FSSAI Central Export food-safety compliance
- Chamber of Commerce Certificate of Origin (Preferential/Non-Preferential)
- Optional third-party inspection (SGS / Bureau Veritas) at buyer expense
Container Stuffing & Ocean Logistics Coordination
Pipavav, Mundra & Tuticorin Gateways
Cargo is stuffed into 20ft General Purpose (GP) or 40ft High Cube (HC) Reefer containers under ventilated conditions (12°C - 14°C recommended for long voyages). Coordinated ocean freight connects Indian gateway ports to the Middle East, Europe, UK, and Americas.
Quality Checklist & Controls:
- 20ft FCL: approx. 900 - 950 bags (~45,000 nuts / ~27 MT)
- 40ft HC: approx. 1,800 - 1,900 bags (~90,000 nuts / ~54 MT)
- Real-time container tracking with shipping line Bill of Lading (BL)
